Dr. Tim Hannon is an anesthesiologist and a nationally recognized thought leader on implementing evidence-based practices to improve healthcare quality and patient safety. He holds an MD from Indiana University, an MBA from Butler University, and a Graduate Certificate in Patient Safety from the University of Illinois Chicago. Dr. Hannon has lectured extensively and has published a number of journal articles, book chapters and editorials related to the appropriate use of blood products, clinical guideline implementation and healthcare economics, and he has been a reviewer for two prestigious medical journals.

Dr. Hannon is a retired Navy Captain who served a combined 30 years of active and reserve duty. He did two tours as Navy flight surgeon, and was decorated with an Air Medal and a Navy Commendation Medal with a combat distinguishing device for missions flown during the Gulf War. After retiring from the Navy, CAPT Hannon continued to serve his country by working for U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters as a contract flight surgeon to review and revamp their aviation medicine waiver review process. Continuing the proud Navy tradition, his son and daughter-in-law are now serving together on active duty, LT Matt Hannon and LT Bridget Hannon.


Dr. Hannon is a serial entrepreneur and the founder of Strategic Healthcare Group LLC. As CEO, he took the company from concept to start up to scale up to exit, being acquired by a publicly traded software company in 2012. Strategic Healthcare Group was awarded the prestigious Indiana Companies to Watch award and was a runner up in the TechPoint Mira Awards. Dr. Hannon is an active investor in a number of early stage companies and serves as a mentor to start up founders. Continuing his mission to improve healthcare quality and safety, Dr. Hannon is founder and CEO of Healthcare Forward, a healthcare consulting and analytics company committed to reducing unnecessary and potentially harmful use of tests and treatments.


Dr. Hannon and his family have lived in Carmel for over 20 years and are members of St. Elizabeth Seton Parish. He has served on a number of local, state and national non-profit organizations. Among those, he was President of the Indiana State Association of Blood Banks and served for 13 years on the Audit and Finance Committees for St. Vincent Health. He is currently a board member for several healthcare companies and serves on the Indiana State Maternal Mortality Review Committee.
